Update on this tragic story: Rescue workers at Palouse Falls recovered the body of 25-year old Cade Prophet from the water above the falls on Tuesday May 31 (Spokesman-Review). Prophet was from Sandpoint, Idaho.
This is so sad to report. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man fell off a cliff at Palouse Falls yesterday. Now, he is feared dead. This is a VERY DANGEROUS area and you must be very cautious as you hike and explore Palouse Falls. There are steep drop offs, cliffs and loose rock which make it easy to lose your footing. Unfortunately, tragedies like this can happen if you aren’t watching carefully with every footstep. Please stay away from the edge and avoid serious injury or death.
